Meet the founder.

Hi, I’m Serena, founder of Kiyome.

I created Kiyome after struggling with sensitive, acne-prone skin and finding nothing that worked. When I discovered grass-fed tallow, everything changed and my skin healed.

Now, Kiyome is my way of sharing simple, natural skincare that actually works. No fluff, no fillers, just real results.

Heal your skin

Founded in New Zealand. Perfected in Japan.

We created Kiyome out of a need for simplicity skincare that’s clean, conscious, and rooted in real results. We chose Japanese-sourced tallow for its purity, tradition, and ethical sourcing, and grounded our brand in New Zealand’s deep respect for nature and sustainability.

What makes your skincare more sustainable than conventional brands?

We use whole, natural ingredients with zero synthetic fillers, microplastics, or petrochemicals. Plus, our packaging is low-waste, and our production stays in smaller batches.

Do you offset your carbon emissions?

We’re actively working toward carbon neutrality. Our shipping is streamlined through an efficient global hub, and we partner with an eco-forward logistics hub to minimise our footprint.

Do you support any social causes or charities?

Not yet, but we eventually will aim to donate a portion of every sale to support women’s wellness initiatives and regenerative farming projects. We believe skincare should nourish more than just skin.

Why don’t you use plastic packaging?

Plastic pollutes. Our glass jars and paper boxes are beautiful, functional, and much kinder to the Earth.

Are your jars reusable?

Yes! Our glass jars are perfect for reusing; store hair pins, spice blends, or travel balms. Cute, clean, and circular.

Where will my product be shipped from?

Thoughtfully crafted in Japan using locally sourced ingredients, Kiyome is distributed from a clean, green logistics hub in Asia ensuring fast, reliable shipping to our global customers.

We do keep stock on hand in New Zealand but only in small quantities for marketing purposes. If we can find a sustainable logistics hub in New Zealand we will look at distributing from here in the future.
